Saturday Torah Study
After Shabbat morning services, we sit down together with the week’s Torah portion: reading closely, asking hard questions, and learning from one another.
Come as you are
Torah Study is a conversation, not a lecture. We read the text in Hebrew and in English, hear voices from Jewish tradition, and bring our own questions and experiences to the table. Disagreement is welcome, there is no answer key, and no previous knowledge of Torah or Hebrew is needed.
While we read the Book of Genesis in the Torah cycle, our study is Genesis 5787: The Work of Becoming, a journey through the first book of the Torah and the relationships at its heart: anger and responsibility, love and fear, justice and mercy, grief and the courage to begin again.
Chayei Sarah · What Love Leaves Behind
Genesis 23:1–25:11. Grief, remembrance, choice, and the love that continues.
