Planting for Peace

On Martin Luther King Day, the 2009 Planting Peace Project Kick-off began. This is a Habitat for Humanity project to honor the legacy of Dr. King where different cultures, religions and races all work together to beautify an area of new Habitat homes in inner city Jackson. The Beth Israel Youth Group members have been exemplary leaders in their volunteer effort in landscaping the yards of this group of new homes.

This effort will hopefully be completed on September 12th when the remaining 7 homes in the Park View Place division will be landscaped. Madison Planting and Design Group have agreed to partner with this effort which will greatly help make this project greener and prettier. Please consider volunteering your green thumb, or a donation, or bringing or serving food, whatever to help make this happen. A few hours or maybe more, contributions welcome and needed. Please be there...
