21st Annual ASBEE
KOSHER BARBECUE CONTEST AND FESTIVAL

Memphis, Tennessee is famous for Beale Street, Elvis Presley, pork BBQ, and the world's largest and possibly only Kosher BBQ Contest and Festival.

In a city where treif BBQ restaurants far outnumber synagogues, it was only natural that a creative team at the oldest, Jewish Orthodox congregation in the Mid-South, Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth (ASBEE), decided twenty years ago to offer a kosher alternative to the long-standing Memphis BBQ contest of the swine variety.

ASBEE is proud to produce the ASBEE BBQ Contest and Festival, which has become one of the year's most anticipated events in the Memphis Jewish community. Last year, the festival hosted 38 teams and more than 2000 attendees.

Whether you choose to participate in the BBQ contest, the basketball tournament, the pickle-eating contest, the children's activities or would just like to treat yourself to good food, family fun, and old-fashioned southern hospitality, you don't have to be Jewish or kosher to join us!
