School is never out at Beth Israel Congregation! Regardless of what your Jewish education has been you will learn something new at the Temple.
Shabbat mornings after services, we discuss, debate, and wrestle with the weekly Torah portion. Always informal (some would say a free-for-all), issues that have troubled us for thousands of years are discussed. We have numerous opportunities throughout the year for learning as well. Tuesday nights often feature classes on everything from Jewish cooking to Jewish history. We learn about mysticism and the structure of our Bible; we learn to read and translate Hebrew. We even learned why one should not leave ones t’fillin on the window ledge when using a public latrine…don’t ask!
Adult Bar and Bat Mitzvah training is offered if you didn’t have the opportunity when you were younger, and if there is something else that you want to learn – just ask. We can offer a class to teach it.
School is never out at Beth Israel Congregation….and it’s never been more fun and enjoyable either!
Beth Israel will is now offering Adult Education classes!
